Engineerium
'Engineerium' is a new book containing 36 new photographs by Jim Cooke and essays by Matt Packer and Jonathan Minns.
With work showing at The British Engineerium in Hove untill further notice.

This body of work was made by Jim Cooke in response to the collection of industrial machinery and artifacts and the archive of industrial drawings housed at The British Engineerium in Hove. As artist in residence Cooke spent over a year photographing , often at intimate proximity, the component parts of this massive, physical location in an attempt to reveal its underlying beauty and delicacy. The resulting images, shot on 10x8, 6x7 and 35mm cameras, in black and white and in colour, are currently exhibited within the museum where they have become a part of the collection and interact with historic artefacts. The project was supported financially and with mentoring by Arts Council England, the University of Brighton, Photoworks and Spectrum Photographic.
