Marc Schlossman
Marc Schlossman is a freelance photographer based in London. He studied photojournalism at the London College of Printing in 1986 and began his career in Boston, Massachusetts shooting for various newspapers and for the Associated Press. An American living in London since 1988, he has worked for newspapers and magazines including The Independent, The Sunday Telegraph, The San Francisco Examiner, The Washington Post, and Harper's and Queen. His reportage work takes him to Africa and Southeast Asia, often working with non-government organisations and charities. He received the British Environment and Media Award for best environment news photograph of 1994. Books include Wild Ireland, a travel guide; and Against the Stranger, a look at the Palestinian experience in Israel. He is a founding member of Inside Eye, a non-profit group of photographers creating educational photography projects in prisons and in the homeless community. These landscapes are the result of a commission from a travel services company based in the UK. The work was a fortunate convergence of a long-term interest in abstract landscapes with a highly creative brief from a client who trusted Marc to do the work he most enjoys in two locations he loves and knows well-Ð the Colorado Plateau region in Arizona and Utah, USA and the west coast of Ireland.
