Support Michael Ormerod’s Legacy kickstarter campaign, to fund an exhibition accompanying the release of his new book, published by RRB Photobooks.

Since Michael Ormerod’s passing in 1991, his body of work has been curated and distributed by Millennium Images in London. We manage his reproduction rights and collaborate with Richard Kalman of Crane Kalman Brighton to sell his prints, with all earnings going to his daughter, Ali Ormerod.

Ali has launched this Kickstarter campaign to fund an exhibition, Vanishing Point, accompanying the release of Michael’s new book published by RRB Photobooks.

Michael Ormerod (1947-1991) was a British photographer known for his distinctive and compelling voice. Tragically, his career was cut short on August 7th, 1991, in a road accident during his last field trip to the USA. Michael’s photography captures the stark and evocative essence of American landscapes and urban scenes, highlighting both their beauty and their underlying challenges.

Michael’s work is thought-provoking, raising questions rather than providing answers. His fascination with horizons, vanishing points, and the ends of roads are recurring themes throughout his portfolio. Although we can’t know for certain what Michael would want us to derive from his images, I am confident he would be pleased to see them receiving the recognition they deserve.

As part of the rewards for this campaign, Millennium Images is offering a portfolio review with Jason Shenai, our founder and director, and Richard Kalman, owner of Crane Kalman Brighton, one of the UK’s few specialist contemporary photographic galleries. They will review your photographic portfolios, offering guidance and advice on advancing your careers in contemporary photographic practice.
